We believe in fair pay for a job well done. To ensure that our salaries are competitive, we participate in an external salary survey every year. We review individual salaries on a twelve-month basis and hourly rates twice annually. And, we pay for all overtime — whether you work in the office or on the production floor.
Rewards & Incentives
We offer a number of bonuses to augment your base salary. For example, Team Members can earn an annual bonus based on company and individual achievements. Our suggestion program provides financial compensation for suggestions that we implement. Kaizen competitions offer great prizes. We have a referral program for some job opportunities. And we offer a discount Purchase Program to help you, and/or your immediate family, purchase a Toyota or Lexus.
Maternity and Parental Leave
Family is important at TMMC. It is how we see ourselves as a company and why we offer exceptional maternity and parental benefits. We top-up Employment Insurance (EI) to provide new mothers with 65 percent of their salary for up to 52 weeks. Parental leave for new fathers is topped up to 65 percent for up to 35 weeks. The same parental benefits are extended to adoptive parents.

Permanent Team Members are automatically enrolled in our flexible Toyota employee benefits program. There’s no waiting involved. Using TMMC provided credits, you can choose the level of coverage that works best for your family or situation for each of the following categories:

After making your selections, you may invest any remaining credits into an RRSP, to a Health Spending Account, and more.
Vacation & Time Off
Time off is crucial to a healthy work-life balance. Permanent full-time Team Members are currently entitled to receive 19 days of Paid Time Off during the year in which their first anniversary falls, and earn additional time-off after additional years of service. In addition, you’ll be entitled to 14 scheduled days off — 9 Statutory Holidays and 5 Floating Holidays that generally fall between Christmas and New Year.
TMMC offers a stable work environment that is second-to-none. In fact, no permanent Team Member has ever been laid off. When production has slowed due to recession, and even when it was halted entirely following the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011, we kept full-time Team Members fully engaged by offering additional training, and the opportunity to undertake good work in the local community, all at full pay.
Pension & Retirement
Hard work and loyalty should always be rewarded. That’s why TMMC offers a competitive Defined Contribution Pension Plan for full–time Team Members. This plan allows a full-time team member to make a contribution that meets their needs and have that contribution matched by TMMC. If you love to work out, play sports, or simply relax (and who doesn’t?), you should check out Corolla Park. The 30,000 square foot facility located next to TMMC’s main campus in Cambridge lets you engage in it all. Membership is free and features a variety of amenities, including: cardio and weight rooms; instructor-led fitness classes; volleyball, squash and racquetball courts; a games room; and a fully-staffed health centre. The surrounding grounds are also home to walking trails, a basketball court and a baseball diamond. Our West Plant, in Woodstock, also offers an on-site fitness center for cardio and weight work outs for Team Members.
Training & Development
The concept of ‘Continuous Improvement’ also applies to the people who work at TMMC. We offer on-the-job training, including skills training at our Team Member Development Centre, in-house apprenticeship and skilled trades programs, and online training programs. We cover the cost of professional development, memberships and licenses. We also offer generous incentives for Team Members who pursue educational opportunities outside of work — including reimbursement of tuition fees and books for most courses.
Engagement & Recognition
Understanding how you’re doing is the key to raising performance. Contract Team Members receive a review prior to the end of each contract. We also like to take the time to recognize those who contribute to our success in other ways, including monthly birthday lunches, and length of service awards. For administration and engineering Team Members, we conduct performance reviews every 12 months to help you move forward on your chosen career track.
A number of positions at TMMC require personal protective equipment such as safety boots and glasses, and special tools. When that’s the case, TMMC supplies this equipment for your use. We also offer an allowance for uniforms. You can select from an online catalogue or visit the Team Member Store to choose the apparel that you want to wear to work.
