Power Platinum Plant Quality Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>TOYOTA MOTOR MANUFACTURING CANADA CELEBRATES J.D. POWER PLATINUM PLANT QUALITY AWARD<\/h2>\n<p>Cambridge, Ontario (November 18, 2011) \u2013 Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) celebrated its Platinum Plant Quality Award today at ceremonies in Cambridge, Ontario. TMMC\u2019s Cambridge South Plant was recognized as the highest ranked plant in the world for initial quality in a tie with two other plants; one in the United States and the other in Japan. This year, 121 qualifying plants around the world were reviewed. This is TMMC\u2019s first Platinum recognition.<\/p>\n<p>Fin O\u2019Neill, President, J.D. Power and Associates joined the award ceremony. During the presentation, Mr. O\u2019Neill noted that, &#8220;The entire Cambridge facility, including both North and South lines, has received nine awards for manufacturing quality over time \u2013 more than any other Canadian plant in IQS history.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The President of Toyota Motor North America, Yoshi Inaba also joined the ceremony, telling Cambridge Team Members, &#8220;You are the only plant to build Lexus vehicles outside of Japan. Now, you are the first Toyota plant outside of Japan to receive the Platinum Award.&#8221; He went on to say, &#8220;Your strong teamwork and commitment to quality is well-known within Toyota. Now, it is known around the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>TMMC President, Brian Krinock commented, &#8220;Customers do have a voice and that\u2019s what makes this award so special. Our team members build each vehicle as they were making it for their own families. We will display this award with pride.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>TMMC Chairman, Ray Tanguay, has been with TMMC for 20 years. While speaking to Team Members, he reflected, &#8220;Twenty years ago I had no idea how high TMMC would climb or how successful we\u2019d become.&#8221; He went on to tell them, &#8220;You have earned your place among the very best car manufacturing companies in the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is TMMC\u2019s ninth J.D. Power Award for Initial Plant Quality. The nine awards are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PLATINUM: 2011<\/li>\n<li>GOLD: 1991, 1995, 1996, 2001, 2010<\/li>\n<li>SILVER: 1992<\/li>\n<li>BRONZE: 1993, 2000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada currently manufactures the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix, Toyota RAV4 and the Lexus RX 350 vehicles and has two plants in Cambridge, ON and one plant in Woodstock, ON.
