Toyota Canadian Manufacturing Plants Receive Gold and Bronze

TOYOTA CANADIAN MANUFACTURING PLANTS RECEIVE GOLD AND BRONZE

CAMBRIDGE, ON, June 21, 2012 – Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada employees in Cambridge (North and South) and Woodstock learned yesterday afternoon that the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study (IQS) results released yesterday named the TMMC Lexus plant in Cambridge South, Ontario as the recipient of the Gold Plant Quality award for the Americas, and the new TMMC RAV4 assembly plant located in Woodstock, Ontario was named as the recipient of the Bronze Plant Quality Award for the same region 2012 model vehicles included in the results were purchased from Nov. 1, 2011 to Feb. 29, 2012. Customers drove the vehicles for 90 days, following their purchase, and then a representative random sample of U.S. customers completed the survey. Plant awards are based on the least number of defects or malfunctions per vehicle.

Overall, Cambridge South, Cambridge North and Woodstock (TMMC) has now been recognized with a total of 11 Plant Quality awards, including 6 Gold awards, which is more than any other North American automotive manufacturer. In addition, this is the third consecutive plant quality award for the TMMC Lexus plant which received the Gold Plant award in 2010 and tied for the global highest honour Platinum Plant award last year.
