TMMC has partnered with the Conestoga College, Fanshawe College, Georgian College, McMaster University, University of Guelph, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo (UW), Western University and Wilfrid Laurier University in a Co-op program, providing invaluable experience for Co-op students enrolled in Engineering, Administration and Technology.

PRODUCTION SUMMER STUDENTS
Every summer TMMC makes available a limited number of Production Team Summer Student opportunities. These student positions are for Full-time Undergraduate or Graduate (University or College) students who will be enrolling or returning to school in the fall of 2024.

Engineering Co-op
The Engineering team is responsible for troubleshooting day-to-day manufacturing problems through an engineering approach and continuously improving existing manufacturing processes with an emphasis on safety, quality, productivity and cost, to achieve lean manufacturing.
We have engineering co-op jobs and opportunities available at every stage of the manufacturing process: Press, Weld, Paint, Plastics, Assembly, Quality Control, Materials, Environmental and Facilities.
Examples of past Engineering Co-op projects:
TMMC Innovation Lab: Predictive maintenance projects; industry 4.0; AI operations; advanced robotics vision and integration, internal Geo-location tracking and Internet of Things.
Suspension: RAV4 Suspension Process Productivity Improvement by eliminating downtime
Weld: RX Weld Quality improvement by defect reduction
Press: RAV Stamping Material Cost Reduction
Assembly: RX Conveyance Design Modification to reduce repair cost
Plastics: RX Bumper Paint cleaning process efficiency enhancement
Paint: RX Paint Shop water usage reduction as environmental initiative
Administration Co-op
Our Administration co-op’s are given the opportunity to understand Toyota’s process driven approach.
We have co-op opportunities available in Production Control (Supply Chain), Finance, Accounting, Information Systems and various Human Resources departments such as, Training & Development, Payroll & Benefits, Safety and Communications.
Examples of past Administration Co-op projects:
Finance: Create financial statement version for forecast in the SAP system; Infestation, closure and suggested process improvements; Supplier inquiry support; Financial Year-End-Close support; SAP GR/IR system cleanup.
Human Resources: Creating methods and systems to analyze big data for time, labour and payroll. Establish and update leave process; Assist with Benefits Projects.
Production Control: Development of a Production Control “Visual Andon” to indicate abnormal or risk conditions to the plant; Design Production Control Materials Toyota Shipping Confirmation System (TSCS) – Support Specialist training of the systems’ functionality and level-up education.
Information Systems: TRACE System upgrades; Torque Tracking Systems, PCMS upgrades, RMS Reporting upgrades, GALC History Extract Database system improvements.
Maintenance Co-op
Maintenance co-op students gain hands-on experience working with Team Members on real projects that contribute to improving production.
We have co-op opportunities available in Press, Weld, Paint, Plastics, Assembly, and Facilities.
Examples of past Maintenance Co-op projects:
Preventative Maintenance procedure improvements; Support plant wide Control of Hazardous energy integration and implementation.
