People like Geordie are the heart of TMMC. Since joining our team in 1996 as an electrician after attending Mohawk Trade School, his passion and drive for his trade have taken him on an ever-changing career path- eight roles to date to be exact. From Team leader to maintenance lead to technical manager (to name a few), today, he is a Technical Systems Manager enjoying the opportunities provided to him to help shape his future, as well as ours.
A proud team member, Geordie shares his reason for joining TMMC, what he values and loves about his role and some of our best-kept secrets.
Why did you join TMMC?
I joined TMMC because it allowed me to expand my skills beyond my core trade skills, including mechanical and welding skills. Sixteen years later, I have built a long-term career far exceeding my expectations.
What do you value the most working at TMMC?
Our safety culture. I appreciate feeling safe in the workplace, as any safety concerns are addressed immediately.
What is one thing you love about your role?
I love the opportunity to collaborate with different departments, which has helped me gain a broader understanding of our organization’s operations. This collaborative approach not only enhances my knowledge but also allows me to contribute to providing support to others.
What is something that might surprise someone about a career at TMMC?
